Lesson 1 · 10 min
The anatomy of a good prompt
Learn
A strong prompt usually has four parts: the role or context, the task, the details that matter, and the format you want back.
Example: 'You are a friendly customer support writer. Rewrite this reply to be warm and under 80 words. Keep the refund date. Return only the new reply.'
Practise This
Take a one-line prompt you used recently and rewrite it with all four parts. Compare the two results.
Build With What You Learned
Save your best rewritten prompt as a reusable template.
Lesson 2 · 10 min
Examples and iteration
Learn
Showing one or two examples of what you want is often more effective than describing it.
Treat prompting as a conversation: ask for changes ('shorter', 'more formal', 'as a table') instead of starting over.
Practise This
Give an AI tool two examples of product descriptions you like, then ask it to write a third in the same style.
Build With What You Learned
Use iteration to produce one piece of real writing you need this week.
Lesson 3 · 8 min
Build your own prompt library
Learn
Keep the prompts that work. A small library of tested prompts saves time and gives more consistent results.
Name each prompt by its job, note which tool you used, and add placeholders like [TOPIC] or [AUDIENCE].
Practise This
Create three reusable prompts with placeholders for tasks you repeat often.
Build With What You Learned
Use one of your library prompts on a real task and refine it based on the result.
